Omega Seamaster Ranchero 2990 Broad Arrow 30 mm from 1959.
Currently one of the most sought-after Omega’s out there. Only produced 2 years. In 1957 Omega designed three iconic watches. The Omega Speedmaster CK2915-1, the Omega Seamaster 300 and the Railmaster. These models were all equipped with Broad Arrow hands. A year later, Omega added the 4th model tool watch, named ‘the Ranchero’. Also fitted with these beautiful hands. Because this name did not fall well in Spanish speaking countries (Ranch hand) the model was discontinued after 2 years.. This makes the Ranchero a bit of a “unicorn” of the Tool watches in this period. The plate is black with Arabic numerals. The indexes are made out of Radium. Nowadays forbidden to use on watch dials. The glass is colored a little yellow because it is completely original. At that time, celluloid was used and the gas in the case caused it to turn to soft yellow. This museum piece comes on an original Omega “Beads of rice” steel bracelet. The Omega caliber 267 handwind movement has just been serviced and runs as it should. Omega Seamaster Ranchero 2990 Broad Arrow 30 mm from 1959 is a barn find and, due to its 36MM diameter, can be perfectly worn under a suit or jacket suit. Click on this link for more information.
